IMPORTANT SNOW DAY/WEATHER POLICY

With regard to closings and delays, The Manor Montessori School will follow Montgomery County schools.
When Montgomery County Schools are closed, The Manor Montessori School is closed.
When Montgomery County Schools open two hours late, The Manor Montessori School will open at 11:00 for all children. No morning day care and no morning bus.
When Montgomery County schools close early due to weather, Manor will close at 1:00 p.m. All children, including day care children, must be picked up no later than 1:00 p.m. There will be no afternoon daycare and no 3:00 p.m. bus.
Working parents, especially those with children in the after school day care program, must arrange for emergency “back up” person(s) for their children when our schedules are altered. At the time of interview, when enrolling a child, we stressed the importance of having “back up” person(s) for driving or for child care on our snow days. These can include family members and/or friends who can be called in an emergency. Without that, a hard winter can make it difficult for all involved.
Most parents have a way of knowing by radio, T.V. or internet that schools have changed the closing times due to weather. However, if you do not have a way of knowing weather closing information, please call the office. Thank you for your understanding.
On bad weather days, that do not involve an early closing, parents must leave a little earlier from work to be sure to pick up on time. The school requires that all children must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. which is the agreed upon dismissal time. Again, if an emergency arises which will cause a tardy pick up, there must be an alternate “back up” person willing to pick up the child on time.
